Question:

i want to know every thing about starfishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know stuff like what they eat and where they can usually be found,etc,etc!!!!

Hi Jennyfer, there's a pretty comprehensive entry on Starfish at Wikipedia but you shouldn't use Wikipedia as an authoritative source, instead I suggest googling around a bit...

Starfish belong to the Echinoderm species, and more specifically the Asteroidea family. Check out those search result pages for lots more info. The images search results for Asteroidea are also quite cool.

Diet wise it is interesting to note that most species are predators(!) which is bizzare to think about really...they'll eat shellfish and injured or dying fish which can't get away. Others eat mostly dead sea animals and plants.
