Hi YerBoiNastyxD,
The final ruling in the Dred Scott case was given in 1867 and it was the most infamous one ever. The stunning ruling that blacks were the 'property' of white slave owners and that Scott had no right to even sue in a federal court as a citizen, infuriated the abolitionists and the Northerners in general. This was considered a big blow to the American abolitionists.
