1.How television affected public opinion-- Uncensored and overly negative television coverage of the Vietnam war turned the American public against the war.
The gruesome and ghastly sights of Vietnamese villages being destroyed, Vietnamese children being burnt to death and the dead American soldiers being sent home telecast in America brought to the fore the horrors of the war.
2. Why?-- Television had become a very popular medium on which the Americans depended for their news. Their trust on television was much more than on newspapers, mainly because of the visuals and the personality the medium offered.
