What is the estimated time line for stopping and cleaning up the oil spill?

The worst U.S. offshore oil rig spill in history at the Transocean Deepwater Horizon oil rig, 130 miles southeast of New Orleans not far from the sensitive shorelines of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida, has posed a serious threat to fishermen's livelihoods, marine habitats, beaches, wildlife and human health.
Efforts are underway to contain the spill, but unfortunately even experts are not able to say for sure when the spill will finally stop, as this is a very serious oil leak.
I am aware that this is not the answer you wanted but it can't be said for certain the estimated time to stop the spill.
