Hi Bsantiago777,
Unrest prevailed in Texas when the Tejanos and the Americans were not comfortable living within the same community. The abolition of slavery, introduction of tax payment and laws to stop immigration further infuriated the settlers.

The rise of a Mexican nationalist was viewed with alarm in the north, where the Texans preferred to continue their near autonomy. In 1833, General Antonio L贸pez de Santa Anna came to power in Mexico. Unrest in Texas became rebellion and in 1835, Mexican troops under the leadership of Santa Anna moved towards Texas in order to take possession of the region.
