Hi cassieee,
Renaissance or 'rebirth' began in Florence, Italy where ideas concerning ancient culture were arising after the so-called dark ages. The rebirth and great development of art, architecture, politics and literature started in the 14th century, spread to other parts of Europe in the 15th century and became most popular in the 16th century.
