i have to do a project for food technology and we have to explre cultural influences on food choices. we have to pretend we are having a homestay student from another country and investigate there FOOD culture customs
and beliefs. we have to choose a country! i was wondering which one you think is easier and has more information on. CHILE or SAMOA.
we have 3 tasks and the first 1 we have to:
1st:explain 5 cultural factors that influence food choice on the home stay student:
2nd: explain the similarites and difference in preperation and eating of food eg also including the way the food is gathered, prepared, served and eaten
3rd and last one we need to have 3 ways of showing respect to the homestay student eg traditions, table setting, food patterns, appropriate way to behave when eating

if anyone could please help me ASAP i would be so HAPPY

Hi Amanda,

I'd suggest working on Chile...some quick Googling turns up much more info on Chile. You might start with Wikipedia's article on Chile and work out from there.

There's a few more leads here.

I'd also suggest not limiting your reading to stuff related only to Chilean food...the assignment sounds as much about culture as it is about food.
