So I gather you are talking about the Cambridge CBD?

I reckon it probably depends alot on the CBD in question. Some places tend to have quite vibrant CBD's with a fair mix of inner ciy living and business, while others are all about business and nothing else. I lived in Houston, Texas, for a while which was totally the latter...the CBD was dead on the weekends and evenings, but I've also lived in Melbourne, Australia, which has quite a lot of inner city living with a thriving cafe/restaurant scene downtown. Don't know much about Cambridge though.
