With rising temperatures the ice shelves in Antartica are melting at an increasing rate which of course causes problems for the local wild life there (Polar bears etc) and also causes the oceans water levels to rise, and ocean currents to change. Both these things will have lasting affects on the worlds weather patterns.
Probably the best summary of the effect of all this stuff is the excellent movie An Inconvenient Truth. If you havn't seen it already it is a must see.
